# Accounting Tech Map > Every AI-native accounting, tax, audit and finance software company, AI-native accounting firm and established player with a serious AI programme, with their funding rounds, investors, acquisitions and locations. Published by Eilla AI (https://eilla.ai) and updated every week. 102 companies in 15 countries, with $1.0 billion raised. 107 acquisitions by 64 buyers. ## What counts as accounting tech Accounting tech is the software and AI built for accounting, tax, audit and the finance function: the tools accountants, finance teams, tax professionals and auditors use to keep the books, close the month, pay and collect, file taxes, plan and report. This map covers the part being rebuilt around AI: AI-native accounting, tax and audit software; AI-native accounting firms that deliver the work on technology they build themselves; and the established vendors, publishers and accounting firms with large, named AI programmes. 1. It's built for accounting and finance work. Its main business, or a business unit with its own brand and website, serves accounting, tax, audit, bookkeeping or the finance function: accountants and accounting firms, finance teams, tax professionals, auditors, or businesses and people doing their books and taxes. General business software with an accounting module doesn't count. 2. AI does the heavy lifting. It is built around AI, or it is an established company with a large, named AI programme at the centre of what it sells: AI agents or an AI product line, an announced AI investment, an AI rebuild of its platform. An accounting firm counts when it delivers the work on technology it builds itself, or builds its own AI at scale: a named platform, a tech subsidiary, an announced investment or a venture arm. A minor AI feature, or buying licences, doesn't. 3. It's a real company. It has its own website with a live product or service that people can use or buy, run by a team rather than one freelancer. A named founder or registered company, named clients, funding or press coverage all count in its favour, but a young company doesn't need them. 4. It's still going. The product or service is live. Acquired companies stay on while their brand and website do; one folded into its buyer comes off. Not on the map: General business software with an accounting module: CRM, HR and payroll suites, general AI assistants; Banks, payment processors and corporate cards with no accounting product of their own; Accounting software whose only AI is a minor feature; Accounting firms that use accounting tech without building any of their own; Solo consultants and freelance bookkeepers; Investors themselves (they're listed from their funding rounds, under Investors). ## Pages - [Accounting Tech Map](https://accountingtechmap.com/): the map, with every company, its funding rounds and investors - [Map criteria](https://accountingtechmap.com/criteria): the tests in full - [What's new](https://accountingtechmap.com/whats-new): new companies, rounds, acquisitions and news, newest first - [AP automation, AR and spend management software](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/ap-ar-and-spend): 30 companies - [AI accounting software, general ledgers and finance ERPs](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/general-ledger-and-erp): 13 companies - [FP&A, planning and financial reporting software](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/fp-and-a-and-reporting): 11 companies - [AI tax software and tax technology companies](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/tax): 10 companies - [Accounting firms building their own AI](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/accounting-firm-innovation): 10 companies - [AI bookkeeping and tax apps for small businesses and individuals](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/small-business-and-consumer): 8 companies - [AI audit and assurance technology](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/audit-and-assurance): 6 companies - [AI accounting agents and assistants](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/ai-accounting-agents): 4 companies - [Month-end close and reconciliation software](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/close-and-reconciliation): 4 companies - [AI-native accounting firms](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/ai-native-accounting-firms): 3 companies - [Accounting practice management software](https://accountingtechmap.com/sector/practice-management): 3 companies - [Sector benchmarks](https://accountingtechmap.com/benchmarks): median price over revenue and price per employee for each vertical and each type of buyer, with the number of deals behind each - [Buyer pages](https://accountingtechmap.com/buyer/visma): one page for each of the 64 buyers with every acquisition, its price when public and its source (this one is Visma, the most active; all are listed in llms-full.txt) ## Other maps by Eilla AI - [AI-Native Services Map](https://ainativeservicesmap.com/): Services firms that deliver the work with AI - [The Legal Tech Map](https://thelegaltechmap.com/): Legal tech companies and AI-native law firms - [AI Deployment Firms](https://aideploymentfirms.com/): Firms that build and roll out AI inside companies ## Data - [companies.json](https://accountingtechmap.com/data/companies.json) - [deals.json](https://accountingtechmap.com/data/deals.json) - [investors.json](https://accountingtechmap.com/data/investors.json) - [acquisitions.json](https://accountingtechmap.com/data/acquisitions.json) - [buyers.json](https://accountingtechmap.com/data/buyers.json) - [llms-full.txt](https://accountingtechmap.com/llms-full.txt): every company on the map, by market
